Tom House
Coach, Author
Often called the “father of modern pitching mechanics” and a “professor of throwing,” Dr. Tom House pitched at the professional level for 12 years before developing a comprehensive, science-based methodology for training pitchers. Tom House founded the National Pitching Association (NPA) and the Rod Dedeaux Research and Baseball Institute (RDRBI) to research and implement human movement, physical preparation, and training programs to help pitchers and rotational athletes improve their skills. The NPA was founded on the belief that pitchers have a right to health-first, scientifically-based programs to gain pitching velocity and functional strength while reducing the risk of injury. Tom House was one of the first to use mechanics and athlete motion analysis to develop a practical pitching program for pitchers and rotational athletes, which has evolved into the National Pitching program for athletes.
