It's the only reason any of us would ever need to be here reading something like this. It's the major culprit in all our lives that makes everything that was so right yesterday seem so friggin' wrong today. And actually BE so friggin' wrong today. Just like the dilemma of how to conscientiously dispose of those handy dandy vacuum-sealed wrappers keeping our frozen Chicken Parmesan seemingly fresh, confusion is the toxic waste emitted by this beautiful physical existence.
Please get real clear real fast here... there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with living in a body or enjoying the many pleasures this world has to offer. (No matter how thoroughly this site might make the ethereal realm sound like something to die for.) Loving the intricacies of this life is what we're supposed to be doing... key word there being "loving". There inevitably comes a time, though, when the exhaust fumes of confusion must be dealt with so we can clearly see what's ahead and start to breathe easily again.
Some people make it look easy.
And as far as I can tell, for some people it is easy. For others of us, not so very much. Some of us see choices that others do not. Like getting married versus living monogamously versus remaining single. But some of us actually see so many choices that it is completely indecipherable and absolutely paralyzing. For us, it seems as viable to travel the world till we're 45 as it does to sell our worldly possessions and grow only the food we eat as it does to cash in our 401K and buy that Harley we've been eyeing for four years now because, "Hey, you only live once."
Then there's the most worthless of all human dynamics: guilt. Those of us raised in a household where this was the preferred tool of leverage have either seen through to the fear cowering behind this cruel mask or continue to buckle in its presence today. If so, this adds a thick, murky layer of confusion to the confusion already kicking and screaming around us.
It's at this point we need to STOP.
Just stop.
In order to gain any real clarity about what direction to head in, it is absolutely imperative that we come into the moment. The only moment that exists right now. But with no idea of how to do that or what that feels like or why it's gonna do any good, we have to call it the way it looks and feels and seems. From our own little uncertain point of craziness where we stand, we have to let it all out. And that's just what we do in several of the segments which follow.
