The information that follows takes a close look into the kinds of feelings and ideas we tend to repress throughout our day to day lives... from twenty years ago to two days ago. The intent here is to get to the good stuff that's been buried underneath so a sense of peace and well-being can return. Maybe even to a degree you'd forgotten was possible! But if you do the inside work to feel and BE completely okay with everything, then MORE than completely okay things start to happen.
It's absolutely imperative, though, that we set out from here with the objective of getting the negative stuff OUT - in a way that is safe for ourselves and others - SO THAT we can feel lighter and freer. To focus solely on anger or hatred or to set out merely to demonstrate just how wrong our best friend was that one time in forth grade would only create MORE ill feelings (the very things that create those sucky life experiences).
And, hey, there's a whole lot more to a high quality of life than just dealing with concepts and emotions. Staying physically active and nutritionally balanced are just as important to feeling good. Particularly in today's sit-in-a-chair-all-day work environments, even if everything went our way all the time there would STILL be excess physical energy that needed exerting and muscles that needed flexing. Any ideas presented in the pages to follow will be far less effective if your body's so hyped up you could run a marathon or so worn down you can't even run the washing machine.
Along the same lines, everyone has their preferred method of letting off steam and getting out those frustrations. If you are more inclined to express your feelings physically, perhaps it would be a good idea to consider some sports activities. Assuming you are on board with the key objective of getting the negative crap out - in a way that is safe for yourself and others - so you can get back to inner peace, the following activities can be great tools for release:
- Jogging - Huff, puff and figuratively blow that pig's house down.
- Batting cage - Every lame idea the boss ever imposed on you... WHAM!
- Lifting - YaaAARRrrggGGHH!! pretty much covers it.
- Fitness Boxing - Well, duh... just note that's a bag, Sluggo!
I'd venture to guess that if that punching bag doesn't cut it and effectively send your hostilities packing, then the ideas in the pages to follow are not recommended. Look, high levels of anger that exceed one's ability to control is a fact of life for many. If this is true for you, PLEASE be one of those who does something to remedy the situation. If you're holding on to feelings so intense that physical violence seems like the solution, please find a professional counselor you totally trust who can point you toward some much easier options.
