Everyone is not created equal. Sure, the same earth spreads out before each and every one of us waiting to be
conquered by absolutely any among us. But everyone is not created equal. Not even physically. Just ask any
"Little Person" or conjoined twins. Though many, many, many humans are created with equal physical
capabilities, we don't all have the same talents, inspiration, problem-solving abilities, or inclinations. And
just maybe even more importantly in this game we've all found ourselves in, not the same financial
backing, social connections, or family tree power.
Merely considering these factors alone points to a level of destiny or dare I say "choicelessness" surrounding
each of our lives. Even if we did choose our parents before we got here as many believe, now that we're
"here" we're in a situation in which we can't alter any of that now.
Hey, look, we have ALL KINDS of choices as to what to do or how to respond to things... more choice than a
human brain knows what to do with... more than our emotions can deal with, even. And all of this choice is
within certain spheres of human limitation. Some these spheres we all share,
others are very unique to us as individuals.
There is an art to living each of our unique paths. Contrary to what "The Secret" and other such ideologies
might say, "just visualize it and make it happen" is NOT a valid path for each and every one of us.
More about that here.
Those who are successful were hungry to get a taste of it. Ravenous, even. I've had a taste. If you've ever
been able to buy absolutely anything you happen to see in a store or have decided to just head out the
door and take off somewhere then you've tasted it, too. Truly sweet. What I didn't like was the bitter
aftertaste of everything required to keep this state of affairs rolling.
Yes, I've gotten much of what I wanted but not through means which have been rewarding or fulfilling.
I literally fell into a rather narrow design arena years ago. I have never given a flying fuck about this
profession yet it has been the only viable option again and again and AGAIN (no longer being willing
to live in my car to adhere to some prideful ideal). And all the while, there are those killing themselves
to have an opportunity to do this work and the circumstances of their life will not offer a break!!
I cringe when I hear things like, "Try harder," or, "Just hang in there." If the point of all
this is to be happy, well, that may not be the happiest way to go!
This physical world is only a reflection of finer levels of energy and intelligence that surround us.
In other words, there's more than meets the eye. This guy over here can saw lumber and hammer nails
and take physical charge and physically build the house or thing he imagines. This one over here born
without arms cannot take the same kind of action. Whatever he envisions, he can't "just build it" nor
"just do it". A very different plan must be developed and just maybe a very different dream embraced.
Even if the dream is designing and building robotic arms there are more steps for the latter guy
to take than "just do it".
So many circumstances appear to be great and some people appear to be overflowing with happiness.
Sometimes those walking around on cloud nine all the time are setting themselves up for a rather
severe fall once more is revealed. There is always a price to pay for any set of circumstances and
that price may have fine print that wasn't apparent at the onset.
The bottom line with all this is we all have the ability to find fulfillment in our circumstances. Once an
imbalance or seemingly unfair set of circumstances is recognized, an initial period of anger is natural and
expressing it fully and unabashedly is necessary to move on. Deciding to stay stuck there, however, or
getting addicted to the rush of anger will ultimately lead to only greater unhappiness...
and quite possibly physical illness.
So my thing is to keep the emotional crap emptied out, see things for what they are, and do something
with I have to work with. I JUST WANNA ENJOY THIS RIDE WHEREVER IT LEADS... OR DOESN'T!!
